Caught In the Current

Patience held her breath. The crystalline room would be forming around her, but she kept her eyes shut tight. The force of the river's water would carry her adrift if she lost focus. The room was a trap, but for whom?

They had sent their servants to capture her. Soon enough, they would try to extract her. They couldn't understand what she pursued. Only the young at heart could.

They thought their creations could outmaneuver her. They were wrong to think so. Her generation understood artifice, and the only cage that could hold them was of their own making.
